DAY 1 –THURSDAY, FEBRUARY, 23, 2017

·         4:00 AM Check in Tampa International Airport, Southwest, Flight WN3952.

·         6:15 AM Depart International Airport.

·         7:30 AM Arrive at Jose Marti International Airport, Havana.

·         8:30 AM Welcome by Havanatur.

·         9:00 AM Modern air-conditioned motor coach tour of Revolutionary Square. The world-famous plaza where Fidel Castro gave many speeches and Pope Juan Pablo II and others Popes presided over a mass with a million Cubans in attendance.

·         10:00 AM Bus tour for New Havana.

·         12:00 PM Lunch at EL ALJIBE Cuban government-owned restaurant known for baked chicken, rice and black beans.

·         3:00 PM Check In at HOTEL NACIONAL.

·         7:00 PM Dinner at La Moraleja, a private sector restaurant known as a Paladar. The term “Paladar” originated from the Brazilian soap opera aired in Cuba, Vale Tudo, as it was the name of the main character’s restaurant chain.

DAY 2 – FRIDAY, FEBRUARY, 24, 2017

·         7:00 AM Full breakfast at Hotel Nacional.

·         9:00 AM Tour of places Ernest Hemingway made famous: AMBOS MUNDOS HOTEL (where he had a private room and legend has it where he wrote To Whom the Bells Toll), EL FLORIDITA bar and LA BODEGUITA DEL MEDIO. By Hemingway’s own account, he said, "My mojito in La Bodeguita del Medio and my daiquiri in the Floridita."

·         12:00 PM Lunch at LA TERRAZA in Cojimar Fishing Village. Ernest Hemingway's favorite government-owned restaurant (ate there when he was staying at his farmhouse in Finca La Vigia – the Lookout).

·         1:30 PM Visit to FINCA LA VIGIA, Ernest Hemingway’s home in Cuba, which is now a government-run museum and where he wrote The Old Man and the Sea. His famous fishing boat captained by Gregorio Fuentes “THE PILAR” is now literally housed in his backyard! The protagonist in The Old Man and the Sea, “Santiago,” was patterned after Hemingway’s boat captain Gregorio Fuentes.

·         3:00 PM Back to Hotel Nacional.

·         7:00 PM Dinner at Luxury restaurant “Comedor Aguilar” one of the more elegant and exclusive restaurants in Havana.

   

DAY 3 – SATURDAY, FEBRUARY, 25, 2017

·         7:00 AM Full breakfast at Hotel Nacional.

·         8:00 AM Day trip to VARADERO region. Pleasant two-hour drive through quaint town Matanzas.

·         11:00 AM Tour at Xanadu Mansion – former DuPont home. The Xanadu mansion located on the San Bernardino crags, was designed by Spanish architects Covarrocas and Govantes in July 1927. The owner of this exclusive estate was French American millionaire Irenee Dupont de Nemours, born on 21 December 1876. In 1927, at the age of 49, he retired from the chemical empire chairmanship and started to look around for a quiet place to spend his retirement. He found it in Cuba. The property included a four story mansion, with 11 bedrooms and adjoining baths, three large terraces, seven balconies, a private dock, and 18 holes championship golf course.

·         12:00 PM Lunch at Xanadu Mansion Restaurant. 

·         2:00 PM Enjoy Varadero Beach.

·         4:00 PM Back to Hotel.

·         Dinner at your leisure (will make recommendations).

DAY 4 – SUNDAY, FEBRUARY, 26, 2017

·         7:00 AM Full breakfast at Hotel.

·         9:00 AM Art walking tour to The National Museum of Fine Arts of Havana. The National Museum of Fine Arts of Havana (Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes de La Habana) is a museum of Fine Arts that exhibits Cuban art collections from the colonial times up to contemporary generations. There are now two impressive buildings belonging to the Museum, one dedicated to Cuban Arts in the Palacio de Bellas Artes (Palace of Fine Arts) and one dedicated to the Universal Arts, in the Palacio del Centro Asturiano (Palace of the Asturian Center).

·         12:00 PM Lunch at Café del Oriente, a government own restaurant.

·         2:30 PM Visit of La Acacia Fine Art Gallery. La Acacia art gallery is one of the most well-known commercial art galleries in Havana and houses one of the best art collections in the city. Its art exhibits feature famous Cuban artists, movements and themes.

·         3:30 PM Tour to Jose Fuster Art Gallery.  Mr. Fuster’s work is clearly visible throughout the entire community of Jaimanita since more than 80 neighbors have allowed Fuster to use their homes as his canvas.

·         5:00 PM Back to Hotel.

·         7:00 PM Dinner at La Guarida, a private sector restaurant known as Paladar.

DAY 5 – MONDAY, FEBRUARY, 27, 2017

·         7:00 AM Full breakfast at Hotel Nacional.

·         9:00 AM  Check out Hotel Nacional.

·         10:00 AM Visit Almacenes San Jose. 

·         12:00 PM Lunch at La Calesa Real, a private sector restaurant know as a Paladar.

·         3:00 PM Check in Jose Marti International Airport, Southwest, Flight Number WN3953.

·         6:05 PM Depart Jose Marti International Airport.

·         7:05 PM Arrive at Tampa International Airport.
